Collaboration

As a freelance illustrator, I specialize in images and graphics related to the occult and esoteric. I do digital images as well as traditional art. If you are a publisher looking for good images, an author looking for illustrations of his work, signs, seals, sigils, charts, diagrams, you have a website, forum or blog you want to personalize, everything occult in nature, I can provide it. My fees are moderate and I have a special offer for authors and publishers: No money. I accept books! My contact address is

Images for sale

In my attempt to collect money in order to buy Frank Klaassen s book, Transformations of Magic, I will be putting up for sale a package of images done by myself.

The images are 54 geometric figures (from the triangle to the dodecagon)  to be used in your private practice, magic, digital art or whatever you wish. Non-commercial use only, of course. For coomercial use, you can contact me with commisions.

The images are 3500 X3500 (1.50-3MB), very clear and ready to use, inscribed in a double circle.

Samples (low resolution):

If you need them, they re yours for 12$. Ideally, I d need only 6 or 7 buyers to be able to buy the book.  Here s the button below:

Faust s Threefold Coercion of Hell

Now this juicy bit has been sitting on the tip of my tongue for a few months.

I have long since completed all the illustrations needed for the new edition of Faust s Threefold Coercion of Hell, coming soon from Trident, translated by Stephen Flowers.

The manuscript was unbelievable, and I enjoyed working with it very much, despite the hard work envolved.

All in all, there were more than 300 images, including small symbols, seals and sigils, plus quite a few complex circles and pentacles.

Keep an eye on Trident Books, this is going to be huge!

As always, some bits from what s to come:

The Book of Abrasax

I have the honor of working with one of the most promising magicians on the web on his next project: Michael Cecchetelli is cooking up his Book of Abrasax and has asked lil ol me to do the illustrations.

If his next volume is as valuable as his Crossed Keys, I can barely wait!

The illustrations range from Gnostic imagery to Coptic seals of the late Antiquity. One of the designs I managed to redo completely is the seal-portrait of Gabriel found in Rossi s Gnostic tract against the powers of evil, published by Kropp and republished by Smith and Meyer (Ancient Christian Magic, Princeton University Press, 1999) to be found on page 146.

Seals of the Seven Angels

These seals were done by me to reconstruct the figures attributed to the seven angels found in Aryeh Kaplan s Sefer Yetsirah, fig.44, page 171. They are taken from the treatise Shoshan Yesod Olam, circa 1727.

 Raphael

Gabriel

 Samael

 Michael

Tzidkiel

Anathiel

Kaptziel

I suspect the angels have planetary attributions, the most obvious being the days of the week: Raphael-Sunday (Sun), Gabriel-Monday (Moon), Samael-Tuesday (Mars) and so forth until Kaptziel (Saturn, Saturday).

These images are made by me, so if you want to use them in private, do so of your own accord, and if you want to use them publicly, please give proper credit either to me by linking my blog  or my e-mail address.

Should you want to add these to your blog or website, please let me know, do not do that on your own.  I won t charge you anything and anybody is free to use them, just let me know.

The font used to make these is called  ANGERTHAS, and its made available freely by Bruce Kyam.

Two new covers for Ishtar Publishing

Hey folks! My collaboration with Ishtar Publishing is yielding new fruits.  I m so glad the Barhatyah is finally out and shipped to their pre-ordering owners, can t wait to see how it turned out.

These are some forthcoming titles that they are bringing out, and I did these covers, at least stand-ins, so they ll probably look different in print. The titles are links to their own pages.
First one is by Nineveh Shadrach, an incredible collection of Arabic talismans never before published in English, and some even never before published anywhere:

The second one is a rare jewel of Arabic esotheric lore, called Tartib al-Da'wat fi Takhsis al-Awaqat, from the Master Ahmad Al-Buni, translated as

Christian lamen

We cannot exclude the christian element from the classical grimoires. That is because the fathers of the grimoires did not practice some old pagan religion, but Christianity, and that is not a bad thing. Being a Christian by birth and a mage by choice, I do not have a problem with them coexisting.
This is a piece I felt inspired to do. Hope you like it.

El Shaday Pentacle

I ve been putting off some projects due to the great ammount of work I ve had and just these couple of days relaxing a bit.
This is part of a bigger project but here goes one of the talismans that made quite a bit of career in grimoires: The El Shaday Pentacle, my version:

Most people know it from the Key of Solomon, Mather s edition, with Hebrew lettering:

It also appears in French manuscripts of the Key:
This one is from Lansdowne MS. 1203 :

[This pentacle is the portrait of the Eternal, which means Justice and divine Wrath, and has a very great virtue for constraining the spirits and for controlling all earthly creatures, for it is said that in heaven and on earth the angels and the demons will bend their knees before him. It must be made on the skin of a lion on the day and hour of the Sun around the ten first days of August, written with the feather of swan, and of gold or yellow colors, or on a plate of very fine gold on the same day, month, and hour. Afterwards, incense it with a suitable incense, then carry it on your collar attached with a chain of gold, or a wire ribbon of gold.](Joseph Peterson)

This one is from Sl. 1307, a manuscript of the Key which preserves best the Hebrew lettering in the name:

Figure 32.-- The first pentacle of the Sun.-- The countenance of Shadda├» the almighty, at whose aspect all creatures obey, and the angelic spirits do reverence on bended knees.

This talisman is also taken from the French manuscript along with a few others, and incoroprated in the ill-famed Petit Albert:

and later, in very cheap editions of the Book of Saint Cyprian.
This one is from Le Petit Albert, a better rendering:

For the texts of the above-mentioned texts, please go to Joseph Peterson s website.
